Default Ran over a dead skunk in new OB

I ran over a dead skunk on the road this morning but didn't have time to wash it off until tonight. The smell is baaaad. Anyone have any suggestions besides washing the wheel wells and undercarriage how to get rid of the smell? Will it go away in a couple of days? Please I hope so.

Default anti-skunk liquid

We're on a farm with two German Shepherds and they have been sprayed by skunks. The tomato juice deal is an old wive's tale. Here's what works on the dogs:

1 qt. hydrogen peroxide
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup Dawn dishwashing liquid

Mix (no other contents), apply, let sit 15-20 minutes, rinse with water, re-apply as necessary.

Have never used it on the cars' wheelwells but I'd give it a try.

agreed on tomato juice not working, here's an unique option that worked on my last skunkin for my dog - summers eve. again, mix a batch and apply liberally until odor is gone.

You need my unique personal genetic defect - I can't smell skunks. I have a very keen sense of smell in all other respects, but when all around me are choking and gagging, I am standing going "what? what?"

I keep thinking I am wasting my abilities and should seek a job as a road-kill pick-up guy...

When my wife was growing up she had a pet skunk, that had been de-scented. She would walk it around the block on a leash, which always drew a few stares. It basically had the run of the house when indoors. Although the scent glands had been removed, there was still a faint muskiness. The skunk's name was "Chanel #6"....

Ush I could've used that about 3 years ago.. my dog god sprayed the night I was supposed to go meet my parents at the airport hotel to leave the next morning. Well guess who got to stay up all night trying to de-skunk the dog. I think I got to the hotel around 4am just in time to leave. Think I'll write it down..
