Hi,

Looking into buying a used 2010 2.5i with 75 K miles. Dealer photos show what looks to be a factory hitch, clearly used. Should I stay away? What maintenance should have been done to the car with a hitch? What should I be on the lookout for when test driving? Other than looking at the CVT fluid what else is there to check?

Many thanks!

Factory hitch doesn't always mean towing. With an 1 1/4" receiver more likely used with a bike rack. Mileage is not excessive for a 2010. CVT is sealed and fluid is not changed very often. IIRC the towing schedule calls for a change around 75k mi. Manual calls for 30+60K check-ups. The usual stuff, fluids, brakes, filters, mostly visual inspection stuff. Road test at highway speeds and look for steering wheel shakes and lane wandering. An independent inspection would be nice.
