Follow your owner's manual.

2003 Outback: "Kaylee". 143,000 and counting.
Basics: Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5W30, PureOne oil filter, Fram air filter, Valvoline Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF, Mobil 1 75W90, Michelin Primacy MXV4.
Mods: Fumoto oil drain valve, Phillips VisionPlus low beams, HIR1 Phillips high beam upgrade, Nokya Hyper Yellow fog lights.

Also: More rust and parking lot scars than I care to think about.

i looked at the owners manual, then i also get a dealer suggested maint.

from the looks of the page listed above your post, only thing different I have to do at the 30k other than the regular oil change is have my tires rotated and the brake fluid changed. everything else is inspect

edit - a part of the service listed is "Air Cleaner" is that the in cabin air filter?

That's exactly what I had done. Oil, filter, rotate tires, brake fluid, and I changed my own engine air filter and cabin filter. The other fluids say to inspect and change if necessary. Print the list from the schedule, use a highlighter for the things you want them to do and take it in to them.

Brake fluid change should cost around $150.00 You can do the oil change, tire rotation and filters yourself and save $$$. Tire rotation being around $27.00 when I had a dealer do it for me once...

Can someone explain to me why Subaru is so hard pressed on changing the brake fluid every 30K. I have never owned a car where this maintenance was anything less than 100K.
