Posted in the other thread..

"Aw shoot, I should have waited a year.
This explains why dealers are offering $3500 off any in stock 2012 Legacy or Outback".

I reckon Subaru will be getting a lot of GTP buybacks.

Nice, sign me up for a trade in 2014 after the changes have been out for a year and Subaru has time to get the kinks worked out. We are just a month into ownership of our 2012 but the upgrades that appeal to me are:

Improved handling- Still getting use to our 2012 on a windy day.
Keyless entry and starting system
Memory seat
Rear AC- My Pilot has this, our dog loves it.
More torque is always a good thing with CVTs.
Is this the same engine in the latest Forrester?
I prefer the current grill & fog lights

Yes, the FB engine has been in Forester since '11. We will be able to brag that we own the last Subaru made with a timing belt.

I have not read about any problems over in the Forester forum.
The FB has DOHC, a timing chain and different head design that eliminates the head gasket trouble with the older EJ engines.
The FB requires synthetic oil and benefits from better friction technology, hence the improved mpg.

Nothing here other than convenience options would make me think I should have waited. (I had to make a move for the GTP since you can't do it after 15k miles on a one year old car). It does sound better. I will go test drive one for sure to check out the suspension and sound upgrades.

Same boat.

I like Eyesite + read AC (for dog) + suspension.

What is GTP?

Is the sway bar upgrade the same thing that forum members have been doing all along?

I am glad to see they are still offering a manual transmutation. I think that is going to rapidly disappear.......good to see that Subaru keeps it on the Outback for at least another year!

--------------------

Sounds like a nice set of updates. I would love to have the memory seats......the ride being stiffer by 40% must be nice.

Personal preference - I actually liked he 2012 grill better (the way the new one is split by the Subaru symbol looks strange to me). I think the fog lights look a bit ridiculous. I think the 2012 front styling is actually a bit more cohesive and sophisticated.

But overall - looks like a great update......

I have now had mine for almost 5 months. I love it. Have no regrets on my 2012!

I never thought i would EVER say this....but the old front end looks better....Atleast the grill does...

I would love to have the new engine and tranny though!

Still no side mirror blinkers....
