As someone already noted, "not even close". Also the "paintline" where they mask off between the painted and unpainted surface looks like Stevie Wonder did it. Terribly uneven/crooked. Return to sender!!

Fail. Did they throw in a good amount of orangepeel to boot?

It could be the color matches perfect, but how they sprayed it the metallic flakes are reflecting the light differently. I'm sure that's more common than not. Too bad you never know how good a body shop is until after you get work done.

If they have any chance of getting it redone - the only complaint that will do it is the lousy masking lines complaining about the paint color is easily side stepped by the shop.

I heard two-tone cars are coming back in popularity. Be the first on your block..

I painted a bumper when i was 15 yrs old back in 1981, it looked better than that, by the way it was the first thing i ever painted.

hellen keller could tell that was wrong.

i agree , if they can't do better.....then they can pay for someone els to do better.

Wonder if they left the clearcoat off or something. That hue is definitely different, like they got the wrong paint coded mix. There's a lack of yellow spectrum in there, making it look more like a 'white' silver. If you don't get what I mean, get a good magnifying glass or even portable microscope and look at your paint job some time. You'll often see particles of different colors that make up your final color. Sometimes the slight tint changes come from the clearcoat too, hence why I asked.

Op I used to work in Collision repair, at one point I worked a shop that serviced BMW, Mercedes and a few other Exotic makes. One shop I worked for was rated highest in quality by both manufactures and the public.

My point is silver is the toughest color to match as well as any shade close to it. To put in bluntly you will never get that bumper to match period. It's not that bumpers are painted differently or at different places at the factory but that matallic granules lay at a different angle on plastic .Vs metal surfaces. When light bounces off the paint on plastic it produces a different color even if the two parts (quarter and bumper) were painted at the same time, in the same paint both.

Put it this way my brand new '13 WRX satin white pearl bumpers are more off in color than your silver rear bumper. My satin white Outback factory front bumper also doesn't match for scratch. My wife was rear ended last year and had to get a new rear bumper as well and guess what it doesn't match the quarter either but that's the way it goes.

*Edit* Just looked at the pics again on my laptop .Vs iphone and yeah I agree with the others, that bumper is way off. Just remember if you get it re-done its still not going to match no matter if Picaso himself painted it, for the same reasons I aforementioned about the differences between the way paint lays down on plastic .Vs metals. But I believe the match could be greatly improved.

Agree with everyone else, the color is not even close. I've always been able to notice the minor difference in color for plastic body panels vs metal, but they can definitely do better on this.

Also it looks like the square bumper plug is missing(1st picture). Was this lost when the bumper was dinged or did the shop forget to replace this?
