SAP $1300 more in 2014

Looking at the pricing of the options on the 2014s. For 2014 if you get SAP you also get eyesight and that is going to raise the price an extra $1300+- compared to a 2013 SAP. More packaging bs, of course all the manufactuers do it.

So if you like SAP and do not care for eyesight buy a 2013 or wait and see what the 2015's redesign brings.

Actually I'm surprised it doesn't cost even more in 2014 given the way that dealers could not keep SAP's on the lot. Demand definitely exceeded supply in 2013. I think demand is more for SAP than Eyesight but when they are packaged together you have no choice if you want push button start and the saddle brown leather, which I think are the two best things about the SAP.

When I ordered my 2013 SAP, the Eyesight and SAP were mutually exclusive. Had they not been, I would have gone for both.

That was the biggest thing that kept me from pulling the trigger. I am glad Subaru didn't now seeing that I lot my job.

To start, Dest increased to $825 (2013 + $30) x .5M units = $15M. Then do the same with base price increase = everybody pays for the free options.

And it is a good thing to be able to get both sap and eyesight just don't care for the fact you will have to pay for eyesight when all you want is sap.

Agree the push button start and keyless entry are features that will spoil you after you have them a while. My Escape has them and when I drive the wife's OB they are missed. Giving passing thought to trading her 2012 for a 2013 but probably not worth the $$$$ and will see what the 2015 brings to the table.

Glad I have the 2013. I somewhat like the idea of the assisted speed but could care less for the other nanny stuff. I am very curious about how the redesign will look.

I'm hoping the 2014 OB will have HID headlights like the Forester, and the lights are compatible with my 2013 OB.

Nope, will not be offered on 2014 for sure.

Maybe in the 2015 redesign.
