Default Satellite radio preset question

Wondering if someone can chime in and provide a solution to my issue regarding the preset groups, when using the satellite radio. Issue is that when I hit the XM button to switch between the 3 preset screens/groups, it doesn't remember the station(s) I was last on, when in that preset group. The problem with this is that one of my preset groups, when I switch to it for some reason is stuck on one of the hip hop stations, and when I have the kiddies in back, am bothered when it is on a song with explicit language. Yes, I can quickly change it, by why should it keep going to this particular station? Perplexing and annoying.

How do I get the preset screens/group to be on a station of MY choice when I switch to that screen/group?

Thanks

What year, trim level? My 2011 Premium (with dealer add-on XM) does it the way you expect it to work.

Now if only they would resolve the random issue I have with it tuning to channel 1 and ONLY tuning channel 1 until I restart the vehicle. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often.

It's a 2013 SAP.

I know how to set the stations, that's not the issue. When I want to go to another preset grouping, I have to push the XM button (on the left side of screen). After pushing the button, it switches to another group of presets, but the station changes as well, and it seems to be stuck on a hip hop station with one of the screens. This is what I'd like to know how to change. Don't want it to default to explicit lyrics when changing onto this preset group.

Thx

Shadow, what the OP is talking about is that when switching which set of presets he is using for satellite (there are 3 sets, Sat 1, Sat 2, and Sat 3), there is one particular station that is tuning. What happens with mine is that it tunes the previous station I was listening to when I was on that "set" of presets, this is what the OP is expecting.

For example:
If I'm listening to channel 26 on Sat 1 (happens to be my preset #4), then switch to Sat 2 and tune channel 83, when I go back to Sat 1 I get channel 26 back, and would get 83 if I got back to Sat 2 again.

Plantdude, maybe it's something to bring up at the dealer, maybe see if they'll grab the key for another 2013 (if there's one on the lot) and give it a try. I believe FM would behave the same but I've spent a total of maybe an hour listening to FM radio in the course of 2 years of ownership.

You probably already know this, but just in case ... if you're listening to the 4th preset in SAT 1, and you press SAT to go to SAT 2, then the station automatically switches to the 4th preset on SAT 2, and so forth. At least that's what I am pretty certain happens in my '13.

My 2013 SAP does not do that. Mine will remember the preset I had on, on all three bands if I switch back and forth. If I turn the ignition off it loses the memory on the two bands I wasn't listening to. When the memory is lost the other two always go to the same three stations. XM1= preset#4, XM2=44 and XM3=29. 29+44 are not muppet friendly and can cause brain damage.

I am also having this problem with my 2014 Outback w/ SAP. Besides the preset bank I was on when I shut off the car, the radio forgets what channel I was on last for each bank. Since I also have a young child, I really do not care defaulting to channel 44. I have even put on the parental lock on 44, which now means when I switch to bank 2 the first time after starting the car, it tries to bring up 44, then asks for the parental lock code..... Any ideas how to fix this?
