wow, that looks great. great solution to people who want the ugly rails off and not willing to spend like $800 or more for the euro rails.

Thanks. Ya the trim was $25 (Trim West in Auburn) for 20 feet which was more than enough and the seam sealer was some hardcore industrial stuff that ran $50 a tube.

Thanks man and your toned down rack looks great.

I used PlastiDip. I painted everything ON the car. Just taped it off like you see in the pics. The dip peels right off around hard edges no need to tape right at the edge. It only has problems when the edges aren't sharp like on the PZEV rear emblem. The second time around it came out what I would say 8 of 10. Its not 10 of 10 like the others but it'll do for now. The PZEV emblem is a totally different squishy material than the others. Why they did that who knows!

Default New Radiator Cap

I installed a new aftermarket radiator cap after noticing the radiator fluid wasn't changing levels in the overflow tank! Works the way it is supposed to, now!

I also purchased a 1/2" drive Wheel Torque Extension Set so I can torque the wheels using my impact gun as I change four summer tires/wheels to winter tires/wheels and vice versa without having to break out the torque gun! Right now, my forearm is not doing well, I have to use just my right hand to do the work.

--- MAGNAFLOW 40 SERIES DUAL EXHAUST ----
I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my exhaust. I removed everything from the catalytic converters back. I replaced the catalytic converters with high flow cats. I upgraded the pipes to 2.5" and removed the resonator (the big box right in the middle of the car). I now have dual Magnaflow 40 Series mufflers in place of the stock. The sound is much much better and it definitely freed up some HP that the stock exhaust was holding back. My average MPG has increased slightly as well. I've included a sound clip/video below. I would definitely recommend listening to the video with headphones or anything other than phone speakers or computer speakers so you can get the most accurate sound..
My Outback has 57k miles so I went ahead and got the 60k mile recommended service which included:...
- Oil change (synthetic) and filter
- New plugs
- New belt and belt tensioner
- Fuel system cleaning
- Cooling system flush and new coolant
- Brake fluid flush and brake fluid replacement
- New air filters all around
- I also went ahead and Seafoamed my engine after the service just for peace of mind
and to clean out any deposits which may have been left behind and judging by the smoke
show I got it was apparently ALOT!!
- I got new tires
- And to top it off I replaced the entire exhaust system.
I've included a video so you can get an idea of what it sounds like. It's about 10 minutes so I've included certain points in the video where you can hear it if you don't feel like sitting through it.

2:50 3:20 3:50 4:25 4:45 5:30 6:00 6:20 6:45 7:35 8:00 8:25

I hope you enjoyed it. Please let me know what you think.... Till next time!

Default "So this car has all wheel drive?"

I took my dad for his first ride in the Outback. We were driving along down by the turn around at the boat ramp and he said, "So this car has all wheel drive?"

I pulled off the road into the side ditch area and started up a small burm. It had been raining off and on all day. We slowed quite a bit when we hit the mushy stuff, but I stayed steady on the accelerator and we climbed to the top and then made our way back down.

"Yeah," I said. "It's got symmetrical all wheel drive."

I love the sound of mud junk hitting the inside of a wheel well.

fixed my rear mud flaps. didn't realize they were half ripped off. actual flap wasn't torn at all, just ripped the plastic washers.
