Default Snow Tires and Wheels

What I did:

I added black painted steel wheels, with TPMS sensors (Massachusetts laws are getting stricter, probably a requirement soon in order to pass inspection on equipped cars), and Michelin ice xi3 snow tires. Looks rather stark, kind of brutal...I'll find some cheap plastic hubcaps to pound on them with a mallet next week to soften the look a bit.

In my garage I have stored my all season tires and OEM alloy wheels that the outback 3.6 came equipped with. Anyone know whether there is any benefit to storing them in a basement where the temperature is pretty much a constant 65F as opposed to an unheated garage for the winter? Might make no difference whatsoever...and I stored them lying on their sides to take the weight off the rubber. Does that matter...?

In other news my rack project is done. A functional rack....imagine that Subaru.
I believe the front grille emblem is just held on by 1 screw.

I took mine up to Stevens Pass Ski Area today. Had the stock Conti's siped a few weeks back and was not too disappointed in the performance...that said, I will be getting Geolandars on soon.

Thanks, dad!

Curiously enough, FL has a stand your ground law, and in a situation like that where someone could have felt their life was threatened, they might feel they would have been able to get away with shooting the driver of the truck. Perhaps that driver ought to careful who he slams into in traffic.

Maybe ramming a car with a tractor trailer is a bit of an overreaction to being flipped off. I don't consider flipping off the truck driver who ran me out of a lane in heavy traffic to be a very grievous overreaction.

In any case... PSA over...

ctd123 might be the first one to modify the stock racks and replace them? Please post some more pics.
