Modified the stock splash shield to fit with the Primitive Racing skid plate. I did not like the gap from the front bumber to the skid plate.

Took mine in yesterday for the computer recall. When the service adviser called me over to tell me the car was ready he was laughing. I said people always have a comment about the car, usually because of the puddle lights. He said the tech tried to start the car, turned the key and it didnt start. Did it again and it still didnt start. The tech tried it once more, didnt start. He thought I had a key fob starter put in since I have a building key fob on my key chain. He couldnt figure out how to start it. The tech called another tech over. The new tech looked at the car and said, "have you tried stepping on the clutch?" Service adviser said they wouldnt let tech working on the car forget that one for some time!

yeah, i would imagine that most new drivers can't drive manual transmission equipped vehicles.

currently, we have three vehicles all manual.

my older daughter will be driving by the end of this year and she will probably end up with an auto... but, for sure, will learn to drive a manual.

Today, I finished off the last couple hundred miles of the break in and added an additional 400 or so just to make sure. This was the first long distant road trip in the new OB and I really enjoyed the ride...once the coffee kicked in.

It was a long day and a very late start, but after 660 miles I'm not tired or worn out from the trip at all. The ride was comfortable and the OB is surprisingly quiet, when I had the moon roof closed. Most of the time, I had the roof open and the seat heated up, listening to sat radio and enjoying the fresh air and the stars. And a little rain.

I haven't checked the mpg, but it's obviously way better than my V6 Tacoma and it was kinda cool driving by my usual gas stops with plenty of fuel left. I really wanted to get the 3.6, since one can never have too much HP, but needed the 2.5's gas mileage. It doesn't have the power that my truck has, but it doesn't feel or act like a four. It did much better accelerating for on ramps and passing than I expected and it had no trouble with the hills.

I wish there were more cargo tie downs, especially in the middle in line with the split of the rear seats and wish the four it has were more robust. I don't like things moving around or possibly flying around. But other than that, I do like the long space of the wagon and this OB is a very capable hauler for people, dogs and stuff.

I drive this trip several times a year and this Subaru has won me over. Even though my Tacoma is comfortable with a good ride, I'm usually very ready to get out of the truck well before I get there. This time I feel like I could have gone another few hours. Thank You, Subaru!

Hauled 35 violins in their cases yesterday, and had room to spare
