I like the way the engine bay looks with the cover. Does anyone know if it will fit the 4cyl or if they make one for the 4 cyl?

I'm curious...does anyone who maintains their own car, leave the engine cover on? Why? ![]() -Jeff |

You actually have to give it two good, firm yanks straight up from there rear, one each about 1/3 of the way in from the left and right back corners. The cover is basically snapped in from underneath near the rear, with two slotted supports in the front. You MUST pull up from the rear first. Anyway, to answer your question, I don't do my own maintenance, but I would suggest that people leave the cover on for two reasons: 1) It only takes a few seconds to get on and off 2) More importantly, I noticed the cover has a pretty thick layer of insulation underneath it. I'm not sure if that's for heat or noise control (or both), but I'd imagine the engine was tuned with the cover serving some functional use. Bonus 3rd reason: Plastic manifolds are great for weight savings and improving center of gravity, but they ain't impressive to look at! Elliot |
