3.6R engine cover - Subaru Outback

What's the secret to removing the engine cover on the 3.6R Outback?

If you do the intuitive thing-lift the front of the cover- you'll break it!.
The back of the cover will lift straight up so then you can see which way the front needs to go.

Thanks for the info. I was out looking at that earlier, but didn't mess with it.

I can be even more useful. The back has a plastic peg on each corner fitting in grommets. Lift them out then slide forward.

Hey---compare this engine bay with one from GM or FOrd---theirs looks like the cover is allready off!

The really nice thing about this cover (besides not having screws to remove and lose) is that it does NOT have the razor sharp edges that my '02 Bean's cover had...
