Living in the South it is uncommon just to SEE another Subaru, so the badging of one wouldn't be noticed anyway. Regardless of any other vehicle I own, the dealer garbage comes off first. As for totally debadging your car, why? I see Honda owners here (Alabama) who like to put "Type R" badging on their Civics and Accords. I bet that there is no JDM engine under the hood! Perhaps it is Subie owners who chose the 2.5 over the 6 cyl and are regretting their decision! As for "achievement" stickers and badges, I bought mine EXPEXCTING to get at least 200k out of it. Can't believe this thread has continued!

^Nice looking Dodge. How wide are those rears? Maybe its the angle, but they look pretty fat - like conjoined duellys or huge racing slicks.

^That thing is pristine. Must have been the angle of the photo. Good looking truck! My friend has Dodge Cummins with a factory ordered manual transmission. The thing is 15-16 years old and looks and runs new. He has it modified up to 600hp and almost 1000lb of torque. Sounds like a the child of jetengine and a semi with the turbo.

got the badge for wifes tribeca. wont b getting one for my outback. i would actually consider buying them for the right price if they were metal or even close to the quality/look of the stock badges. i personally like the badges.

That's 'cuz you live in CA. I believe it is illegal here for dealers to put any advertising onto the car itself. A breath of fresh air from our legislature, for sure. So we get the license plate frames with loud paper advertising plates, which are easy to remove. Back when I was growing up in S. Jersey, the dealers would friggin' drill metal dealer badges into the car! "DeSimone" in big chrome letters was permanently drilled onto many a Cadillac in those days. If I didn't live in CA I'd definitely demand that my new car be free of dealer stickers/badges etc. As for removing the factory badges, I've always felt that de-badged cars look a bit ghetto - but that's just me. Exception: Removing excessively ridiculous advertising badges e.g. that huge "INTERCOOLER" one that spanned **** near the entire tailgate of some old Volvo wagons. The PZEV one may qualify as that, but it's not nearly as bad as Volvo's INTERCOOLER. I left all mine on. And finally back on topic of the Badge of Ownership: I rather like them and I ordered a set, but I haven't affixed them to my Outback yet. I'm watching other Subies I see in the wild to see what the general consensus is around here... This is my 1st Subaru, and I confess I'm a bit afraid of looking too much like a newbie ![]() I may put the set on when I reach 100K. That's my plan for them for now, anyway ![]() -James |

I'm not sure what to do with the badges either, but I did order and receive them. One issue is that in the example they show the badge is the second line of text. But on my '13 3.6R, there are already two lines of text on each side. I think it would look bad to have a third line on one side.
