I ride a motorcyle and received one free year in the Honda Riders Club of America but would not pay dues to stay a member since I saw no value in the club whatsoever. Being free I guess I will order the badge but for the life of me can't imagine what purpose it serves. Maybe I'm just a curmudgeon after all.
I'm with you. Again and again, I see the infringement of low-IQ marketing into our lives. It used to be that simply owning a particular brand implied the prestige of belonging to an exclusive group -- throwing badges around is childish, and wreaks of completely misunderstanding the concept of prestige and exclusivity. Yeah , Subaru is small compared to Honda or Toyota, so in that regard we can consider ourselves a bit unique, but Subaru can't force the concept of prestige on a product line engineered and priced for the masses. It's no Porsche. Prestige and Subaru are mutually exclusive.

Personally, I've found that other Subie owners find the new OBs to be the red headed step child, LOL. I have 3 of the last gen OBs on my block and their owners all give me the cold shoulder.

I also intend to remove the registration plate frame, which serves no purpose except a billboard for the dealer; they left out two of the bolts (screws), of which there should be four!
When I took delivery and saw the dealer's sticker on the rear hatch, I immediately told him I want that off, with no scratches........he had it removed before left the dealership. On the way home, picked up a license plate frame at Pep Boys and tossed the dealer frame in the trash.

They've got a lot of nerve....... some dealerships actually try to charge an advertising fee in the negotiated price for the vehicle, and then they want you advertise for them for free!

It's better than those drinking glasses that you can buy, for real money, with "Coke" all over them.

I got it mostly for the 100K+ badge. But I got the performance oriented and mechanically inclined badges while I was at it.

It's like those badges Merc and Cadillac owners have on the front for having a bunch of miles or being a loyal customer by buying the same brand more than once. only Subaru is a lot cheaper brand, so the badges are correspondingly cheaper lol

I bet I could find someone to give mine to. **** forget about a city, the Outback is the official car of the STATE of Utah. I've been really getting a lot of looks and comments on mine lately. Many are talking about trading in their 200_ for a 2011.

If I'm driving a Subaru then other Subaru drivers see me easily. What does a little badge glued to the body of the car say that the car doesn't say by itself? I still don't get it.

I can't imagine someone debadging a 3.6 however, but maybe I could see someone buying a 2.5 emblem off of one of those interons sites. youremblem.com

Maybe a 2.5R?

I had a deal with my dealer.
If their name is on the car I ordered I would not accept it.
Though they did put a license plate frame on it. With 4 screws.
But it's gone now.

It's a distinct possibility, I'd say.
