Does this piece aid in the deflection of debris kicked up from the roadway? Who is using the Subaru unit and who is using an aftermarket one?

I've got the OEM one and love it. It's the first thing I put on every vehicle. They work great and look great too. 2 thumbs up for sure!

I have the OEM one also, installed by the dealer. But I do have a chip in the windshield from a rock thrown by a semi in front of me (following too close I guess). This was within 2K miles.

OEM unit. Works well so far. I think, and it was pretty easy to install too. I always have had a hood deflector on my vehicles and it helps with keeping stones damage to a minimum.

does the oem shield require any drilling..or simply to mount clips to the front edge of the hood?
