I have not found any threads with 2012 CVT shudder issues while cornering in acceleration. I not saying it doesn't mean they're not there, I have just been reading about older models with higher miles most of or all of without CVT.
Previous people have referred to it as a vibration when making tight turns left or right from a stop say pulling out of a driveway onto a busy road etc. Even my 2001 5spd MT subaru did this for 180,000 miles. The more throttle you give it from the stopped point the more you notice this vibration and is just a split second or so almost a bit of a groan. My CVT does this also less so now than when new if I really mash the pedal with the wheel cranked over to the stop I can still get it to groan and vibrate for a split second. 28,000 miles and maybe around 3000 towing a trailer

Given even my old car did this exact thing I suspect its a trait of the AWD system loading up in a hard turn high load condition ie stopped with the wheel cranked over and then lots of power being dumped into the drive system.

Update! I've taken our 2012 2.5i Limited OB to a different dealer and go for a ride with the Service Manager and he agrees the shudder isn't normal, we then get a new one out for a test beating and it's fine, so in the shop it goes they open rear diff and discover darker than normal diff fluid at just 4K miles replace the fluid and no change. End result they've ordered a new rear differential for this car. Humm

I have the clunk you describe when putting in to park as well as whistle sound when in drive and stopped. I'm planning on having it looked at soon

Now you have me concerned.

Does your shudder occur when starting from a stop and turning or when accelerating through any corner at 0 - 20 mph?

Please keep us updated on the possible fix.

Thanks

Update! 2/8/2012 Our dealer called and said we need to bring the car in so they can take it apart and order the necessary parts. Which is completely different from "we'll just order a new diff since the vehicle is so new" I'm thinking SOA said NO not the entire diff take it apart and order what's defective or there are different differentials and they need to figure out which model is in our car. Just a guess! Whatever, our OB is in the shop NOW they said 2 days and they'll call me... Meanwhile we're driving their 2012 2.5i OB though not a Limited it's a fine ride. Answers to questions are shudders while accelerating in heavy turns 90deg or more, and the clunk when placing the OB in park has been addressed by the dealer and it's much better now. I'll stop back and let you all know what the dealer finds or says when I get the call.

Update; Well fellas picked up the OB today, turns out they replaced the entire "pumpkin" I didn't know you could even do that! Our service writer said they had the entire rear differential shipped in and the swapped it out "which is better for you than taking yours apart and trying to replace just the defective parts" replaced the diff lube and test drove all is good. I said OK and drove the home (about 6 miles) so far so good. We'll see what the misses says when she gets home from school this afternoon.
