Default Plastic belly pan

Did any of the 2010+ outbacks come with a plastic belly pan like the new legacy's have? I have both vehicles and my legacy has it but my outback doesn't. I'm referring to the piece you remove for an oil change.

Thanks,
Nick

My 2012 Outback does not have a plastic belly pan at all.

Thank you. Neither does my 2011 Outback. Every Legacy appears to have one, including my 2011.

My wife's 2012 3.6R Limited does not have the plastic engine undertray either. Wish that it did, as the undertray on my Leggy helps keep the engine bay clean.

None on my Outback

Either way it sucks IMO- the engine bay on my old WRX stayed SPOTLESS for the 4 years I had it outside of some dust. After 800 miles and driving through 2 rain storms in my new Outback and there is mud, water spots, etc. everywhere. However, taking the pan off the WRX was a pain whereas the oil changes on the Outback should be a bit quicker

If you really want one, just get a nice, thick rally armor or primitive racing piece that will not only keep it a bit cleaner but also serve as a bit of protection

My 2010 premium has the "splash guard". Is this the piece you are referring to?

The thing that makes me question whether you're referring to the splash guard is that you have to remove it for your oil change since I've never had to remove mine--though I did have those momentary "rip out the exhaust" thoughts before getting an oil filter wrench since I like to warm up the oil before a change.

Default That belly pan was actually in the service manual for oil change

I actually went back to the dealer because I thought they screwed up and forgot to put mine back on.

Dealer showed me the other cars in the lot and they didn't have it. Legacy and outback shared the same manual so maybe that's why it's there.

Felt like an idiot leaving the dealer.

Yep, that's the part that I'm talking about. I think some 2010's had them...maybe they all do.

2010 limited here. No plastic pan. I think they figured that most OB do some off road and would likely get damaged or torn off. It might, however, give some slight improvement in MPG for those running on the highway. FWIW my '06 OB doesn't have it either, though I know the Legacy of the same year did. Should be an easy retrofit if you want to.

I don't know why my 2010 would have the splash guard and others wouldn't. Subaru dealerships don't just add stuff like a $15 piece of plastic that most people neither see nor care about. There would have to be some underlying reason for it to be installed either at the factory or at the dealership.

Did you get the all-weather package on your limited? I got the all-weather package with my car. Perhaps it's also regional based on snowfall/salt seeing as we get a fair bit of that in Ohio.
