I had them on the 2011, did not get them on the 2012. They will collect all sort of crud that gets behind them. You off road mudding will cause even more issue.

Did you use OEM or aftermarket like Sportwing? My '11 had OEM. The dealer tried to sneak Sportwing's past me on my '13. There is a huge difference in style and gap from the tape. Needless to say they were replaced as soon as they got the OEM in.

sportwing, i wish i would've gotten the OEM ones instead. i posted a thread on this forum for the difference, no responses. yeah, theres a difference but my car still looks better, ill live with the fact that i made yet another mistake.

I feel you man but yours is prob worse than what I had. It took me about an 1hr to get the mud out from underneath my outback. The mud guard area feels like it holds gallons of mud and takes forever to get cleaned out. lol Plus up in the rear bumper lots of mud will get up there too.

You also might want to check the drive shaft area I found lots of mud and grass on the protection shield on mine and more in between some bushing. To me I wanted to play it safe and clean it well. High pressure hose and a small flexible brush is what I used.

haven't posted here in a while so let's talk about how stupid i am. i really really ****** up with that R-rev underbrace. i cross-threaded the bolt under the driver's seat and broke the weld inside the unibody. my friend says he will help me, he has done the exact same thing on his ae86. but he's an *******, so ill probably have to pay to get it done. today i took off the hood deflector. shouldn't have gotten it, i'll make a list of the things i shouldn't have bought:
r-rev underbody brace
lamin-x taillight film
hood deflector
generic body side moldings (that are slightly crooked)
8" pioneer shallow sub and soundstream amp (could have gotten much better stuff for a little more)
wrong size LED reverse bulbs and fumoto valve
the angled aftermarket radio plate when i should've gotten the flat one

cant believe how stupid i can be, i broke my fog light several times and had zip ties holding it in place since most of the tabs are broken, today i actually stuck my head in farther and noticed a bolt remaining that i could use. oh well, at least its close to how it should be now. i took off the hood deflector cause its turning purple and i took off the angry rally pig emblem overlays, they're just stickers...
i think it looks a lot better even with the dumb sportwing body side moldings that are crooked
