Default Constant USB power

On my 2012 premium with the basic radio the only way for me to charge my iPhone using the USB port is to scroll through the modes (AM,FM,USB,BT) so the USB port gives power. Once this happens the car will send power to the port and charge my phone no matter what input I'm using. Is there a way to make the port always have power going to it? Also I'm not able to play pandora through the USB cable, only the music on my iPhone. Any suggestions on either issue would be awesome. Thanks everyone.

the only way to make it charge is to keep doing what you're doing. i have no answer for you on why pandora doesn't work. i have a '12 premium & mine works fine (although i almost never use pandora, i've tested it a few times).

I use the iPod interface (media hub) on my '11 OB in conjunction with my iPhone 4s. Charges while plugged in and I can stream Pandora or iheartradio right through my sound system plus it shows whatsnplaying on the radio digital readout. When I get calls it automatically cuts off the flame so there's no fumbling around, plus I can use the skip feature to get to the next song right from the steering wheel controls.

An option to consider if you do a lot of streaming.

Registered_Murse - I have the same issue with my 2013, the only fix I found was to go through the modes like you have until my phone starts charging then switch over to bluetooth to stream pandora. Once that's going, you can view the song's info on the radio and control it with buttons on your streering wheel.

That's odd. The USB port in my '12 charges my iPhone4 just fine whether I'm listening to the radio or playing music off of it. I have the H/K radio.

OP, have you tried another cable? I'm using the one that they dealer gave me when I bought the car, it appears to be an Apple OEM cable. /shrug
