Default Very few eyesight

I sold my "old" car today and am ready to start the buying process tomorrow. In checking the six dealers closest to me, there are only three cars with eyesight within my area. (I do live in CT; so I can branch out). My question is: if there are so few with the packages I want, will negotiating be more difficult? I plan to do my negotiations by email only.

Thoughts, please.

Thanks. I'm getting excited!

I agreed to a price with my dealer on a 2013 2.5i Limited with MR/Nav/ES plus lots of extras for over $4k off MSRP. They are giving me a fair deal (within $1k of KBB) on my trade in. I used Cars for Sale - Buy a New or Used Car Online - CarsDirect and found it very helpful in selecting the dealership to work with.

Only if you need it on short notice. You can always request to order one exactly the way you want it. Price would not be worse and should/could be better. As sombody once sang,"The waiting is the hardest part".

Some things are included, some are "popular packages". As I remember it, the window sticker will include everything that it came with from the factory. A dealership CANNOT remove anything from that list, even if you want them to (even little things like floor mats and wheel locks). They can always add things, though.

Some things are included that you may not realize unless you look into it closely. For example, I thought that the cargo liner was an option I had to buy. When I picked up my Limited, it was in there. I thought maybe the Dealer just forgot that it was an included option, but when I looked into it, I discovered that it's included with the Limited.

As for the "Popular Packages", here's a list of the option packages that may already be included, and what the MSRP is. It may be good to have a copy of this handy when you head to the dealership. They may say "We have the car you want, and it has these options for this price" and you can see if the options cost an amount over base MSRP that you're happy with based on that list. They should be able to actually give you the option package code/name.

It may include some things you want and would pay for, and some things that you don't want. You can use that as part of your negotiation. You can always say that you're willing to wait or find a car that doesn't have a particular option package included, so they may be willing to negotiate down a little to make the sale sooner. For me, I wanted the bumper cover and splash guards, but I wasn't particularly excited about the body molding or wheel locks, but it was all included. I looked up what that set of options cost, and it was around the difference in price, so I took it.
