I got this as well on my 4s running iOS6 until I shut down every currently running application on the phone. I think one of the other apps that uses bluetooth was causing it to not work properly. I will check on my way home to see if changing the setting lets me access my incoming messages.

Took me a couple tries as well ... turning bluetooth on and off, restarting the car (more than once) then it seemed to work. I have iOS 6, iPhone 4s, 2013 Outback with Nav. Everything works now except I am unable to send messages ... but it will read them out loud to me.

I have the 2012 premium (not the nav system) and the new iPhone 5, and I can get the phone to pair, and it will stream music, but the next time I turn the car on, then it won't connect up again. I've totally deleted and re-added the connection on both the phone and the car a couple times with no success. Anyone with the non nav system having luck with the iPhone 5?

Alright, I got mine to work with the non-nav version. The key was to pair with the 'phone' portion of the stereo, before the 'audio' portion.
Before you start, delete any of the previous pairing attempts from the phone, and from the audio portion of the stereo (Available under the menu button). So what you need to do is hit the talk button on the steering wheel and say menu, then you can use the jog wheel on the right to select options. I deleted the old pairings first, then paired the new phone. After that pairing was done, and I gave it a name, then I went into the audio settings and did a select phone (I think.) Then it worked, and reconnected after restarting the car. Hopefully this helps! |
