Default Belt adjusting help?

Does anyone have experience with belt squealing on their Gen 4 outback? I think I may need to tighten or replace a belt but I am not sure how to go about it? Is there a write up anywhere on that?

If the belt has done much squealing, it is probably too late for just an adjustment. Probably better to start with a fresh one. Much slippage, and they get glazed.

There's only one belt - at least on the 2.5 - and it has an automatic tensioner so there is no adjustment - probably needs a new belt.

Edit - Sorry, just noticed you have a 3.6 - have to look at the service manual.

Edit - The 3.6 only has one belt and an automatic tensioner as well.

Is the belt actually the culprit? How many miles are on the car?
While I have the 2.5, cars nowadays use tensioners for ease of maintenance and proper function. I haven’t looked closely, but v-belts typically don’t slip – unless something is amiss with a pulley/acc.
