I wanted to highlight this for the OP. The paint that runs down onto the black cladding looks terrible, in fact, worse to me than the difference in color. They may need to replace the whole thing and start over.

I just noticed that. They didn't remove the cladding? Just tape and spray? Hard to fathom. Maybe it is some wetsanding or cutting polish residue that wasn't washed off.

That is pretty bad. Good bodyshops are out there, but they don't like working with insurance companies in my experience.

Definite mismatch...however as a car ages the paint will fade a bit. I had my TDI redone after a fender bender...they could not get a perfect match due the fade of the paint over time. That may be a factor here if the car has been on the road a while.

I'll agree with everyone, that paint is WAY off. Regarding the paint on plastic parts being harder to match, sure it is but a decent shop can get it dang close. From what I've seen it'll actually be slightly DARKER, due to the flex additive.

Regarding the "cladding", it's actually all molded as one, they need to tape it off. I had my rear bumper replaced in July, they did the same thing with the tape line. No new part needed, they had to strip it anyway as they tiger-striped the paint on the right end. On mine, the paint matches about as well as it can be matched. The picture makes it look worse than it really is.

The paint did not "run", the tape was not applied straight.

There is no cladding. It is a one piece bumper. They just leave the bottom portion unpainted. Getting the tape applied straight along the center of the indented "groove" is crucial.

What might help us would be a picture of the front bumper with the same camera. Take new pictures of the rear, just to get the lighting the same.

That looks like a horrible match, but it's hard to know without comparing.

My Brother had his WRX bumper repaired years ago, and they had to spray it 3 times to get it to match as well as new. It was always a hair different, but just as close as his undamaged bumper.

Park next to another un-crashed silver Outback from the same year and take pictures of both.

Just Suggestions.
