thats true, i changed my mind on cutting the center, just hope it fits. at least the chinese supplier emailed me back right away. didn't click on the carbon fiber one since i hate "carbon fiber" but there are actually pictures of it on the car. im not impressed by that gap up top but other than that it looks pretty good.

If you look at the picture of the CF grill above you'll see the bottom curves to a rounded point. Looks like it sticks out further too.
Euro bumper: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Leg...21152635365%26 The bottom of our grill is flat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2011-20...72d1c2&vxp=mtr Doesn't anyone else see this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Maybe the lower grill fits? |

i only looked at the top, never the bottom, you're right. i also got an email back saying it will not fit a USDM bumper.

so far nothing but dead ends. I emailed a company in california that supposedly makes this grill. 2010-2012 Subaru Outback Main Upper Wire Mesh Grille
i imagine they just sell but they might know the chinese parts maker that actually produces these and could do away with that section for the grill and just replace with mesh. like just have that line on top go straight across and then just have mesh instead of the dorky looking logo. well, i do like the subaru logo, just not in that location. but i like the look of all the subarus with blank mesh grills. does someone have photoshop and could put that grill with no logo painted black onto an outback? or editing this pic would work edit: they basically told me to **** off.

i think i wanna get that grill, the picture i was sent from APG makes the grill look like a piece of mesh with a surrounding finish where i could cut straight across and mesh would be there perhaps? i really dont like that ugly emblem placement. too bad its $266. i really wish more than 5 people in this country were willing to modify there outback and answer my questions.

I completely feel you on this one...having previously owned a wrx, the lack of grill options (and aftermarket parts in general) is pretty disappointing.
I did a quick chop of the grill picture and definitely think that it would look better sans the logo. However, I still wish there could be more depth with the mesh, and I'd think that it would be fairly difficult to cut the metal while following the flow of the upper grill exactly (since it doesn't look like a perfectly straight cut). Too bad our stock grill has such complicated shapes/lines. I've looked at it a million times and can't see any easy way to modify it by cutting/fiberglassing that could replicate the clean look of grills available for other subarus. Maybe the metal grill would serve as a better starting point, but after all the time and cost that would surely be one expensive grill. |
