Default 2005 Outback XT - cabin filter / retrofit

I bought this 2005 Outback XT back in late October.

Looking over the maintenance records, I think the cabin air filter was deleted.

I'm planning to have one installed, but I also read there was a retrofit kit for the 2005's that makes future cabin filter replacement easier.

I gather it adds a door / panel to the glovebox.

Where could I find so e additional info on this part? Anyone happen to know what it is called, or the cost?

Opinions on whether it would be worth installing?

Call your dealer with your VIN# and see if Service Bulletin WWW-07 applies to your vehicle. If it does not you will need to purchase Air Filtration Conversion Kit PN #SOA342L500 BTW if your car is not affected you may ask the dealer to take a look and see if it is easily serviceable. The kit may already be in place.

The kit actually adds a hole, a curtain for the hole, and an "L" bracket to keep things in the glove box from falling thru the curtain and into/under the dash

Here's the most complete thread on the air box mod:

Note: May people just cut a hole in the back panel if you are a DIY type.
