Replaced my Power Steering fluid. Haynes manual says Dexron III Automatic Transmission Fluid; went with Valvoline Dex/Merc.

I used a syringe with a length of tube duct-taped to it (because the neck of the fluid reservoir is narrow), and sucked all the dirty fluid in the reservoir out, then replaced with fresh Valvoline. Close cap, turn on engine, run the steering wheel full right then left 10 times to mix the new fluid with the old. Get the syringe out again, repeat.

After about 5 cycles, the fluid in the reservoir looked fresh enough.

2 quarts of Valvoline was enough.

^^
I did the power steering too this past week in the 01" OB. Pretty much the same way I just used my brake bleeder mighty vac to suck out the fluid. I used Mobil one synth Dextron III though.

I also put in new front end links, installed a compass auto dim mirror and replaced the broken in dash cup holder.

02 OBW has 130k miles it was time to pull motor and replace head gaskets. At the same time, new timming belt, spark plugs, thermostat & gasket, valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, fluid change in both differentials and a brake fluid flush. Car should be good for another 130k!!

Just an oil change today...Mobil1 Synthetic 0w-30 and a Mobil1 filter...did it a little early because we're in for some not-so-nice weather. Hopefully I don't have to do it again until spring. I wouldn't look forward to being out there on a -10 windy day.

(last night) I bought Valvoline oil and a K&N oil filter, wax application pads, a K&N air filter, and 3 new wiper blades. I installed all the wiper blades when I got home. I removed all the stickers from the windows except for the awd stickers in the rear. I will remove those when I get my new ones in the mail. I plan to detail my car today. Clay bar, wax, windows, vacuum and interior dressing. It should be looking good after all that. I will change the oil when the detail is done. I have window tint on the way. I can't wait to install it! 20% all Windows. (Yes, I know how to install window tint)

Update: I have gone over 80% of the car with the clay bar. The roof and front bumper were a pain in the butt. I will finish it and wax it on Thursday night. After that I will start the interior. By Friday I will be done and start on the window tint. I am going to order 5000k HID headlights for the low beam and fog lights tomorrow. I can't wait until its all done!

Most of our town's non-retail businesses are closed all week this week, my workplace included. So I got a friend to help me fix a few issues...

Got the sunroof assembly pulled out to try and fix the front sunroof not lifting and it's shade guide track being broken. I've started a thread on that topic if anyone's got any tips.

Also removed the big red plastic "SUBARU" thingy off the tailgate. It's been filling with water when it rains, and I have been having to take the reverse lamps out to drain it when I open the tailgate. Got it sitting in the sun to dry at the moment before I silicon the top of it to stop water running in off the car body.

I removed my AWD decals, tinted my whole passenger side, and I tinted the driver side rear quarter window. I womb get the rest done later tonight. Time for work.

I had to replace the front passenger side ball joint. That was no fun at all. The clunk is gone now though. While under there I saw the boot to the steering rack is torn. That's next I guess ...
