Default 02 outback brake questions

I have an 02 h-6 outback and seem to be getting the run around finding replacement pads.
Every place I check tells me to check with the subaru dealer to see what year brakes my car has.
Do you guys have a vin decoder here for such purposes?
Or could someone point me in the right direction?

i've gotten correct pads (Centric PosiQuiet Ceramic) from both KNS brakes and rockauto for my 03 H6.

or, if you want OEM, try subarugenuineparts.com or fredbeansparts.com and supply them your VIN.

if 02s are subject to some confusion, maybe someone else will chime in with that info. could have been a mid-year change of rotor size or ???

I found Wagner brand pads to function best and give better miles than stock (shame on me).
I bought mine from Amazon, low price and free shipping (not an ad just facts).
The metalic pads work best for me on my wagon, pulling a tent trailer.
The lowest price pads work great on my sedan.
Both cars are H6's, wagon an 04 and sedan an 03.

OK - here's someone else fighting to find the 'correct' parts for an 02;
