maybe swap bulbs to confirm the issue is the bulb?

Yeah, that was one of the intermediate projects while I was waiting for stuff to dry. I had some laying around and wanted to try it out. Pretty easy to apply and easy to reverse if I didn't like it. I'm still not sure about it.

I did swap the bulbs to confirm the issue. I'm in contact with TRS to sort out the bulb issue. On another note, I managed to break one of the parking light bulbs during all of the back and forth with the headlights. The bulb was the original Koito brand. The car has 172k miles on it. Could this really be the bulb installed from day 1?

Koito from my own experience makes some amazingly good stuff. My old Mitsu made Plymouth had Koito headlights (sealed beams) that would NOT die. I kept wanting to upgrade, but couldn't bring myself to remove the working headlights still in from the factory for 20+ years. Seen lots of old Toyotas with the Koito sealed beams that have never died.

Snapped a quick teaser pic last night while parking. Don't worry, the cutoff would be level if the parking spot were too.

Here are a couple of better shots. I'm still working on what's causing the flare up on the outside edges.

In the first pic especially it looks like you don't have the projectors level in the housings...... Looks like there both twisted a little.... The left one more so than the right but they both look a little off to me...

If you look at each light separately, you'll see that they are level and that each cutoff is bowed. This is most likely the crooked bulb issue. Other members on HIDPlanet have had issues with the Morimoto bulbs. I may just exchange both bulbs for OEM at this point.

Could you please post some under-the-hood pictures of your modded headlights installed in the vehicle? I'm concerned about mounting depth of the projector modules.

Thanks in advance!

I can take some pics for you. I have not finished my solution for sealing up the backside of the headlight housing, though I have an idea for a permanent solution. Currently it's sealed up using the stock cap and aluminum tape.

Neither side was really an issue. The more difficult part is accessing the adjusting screws, but that is just because Subaru made them so long. I'll try to get some pics of each side tonight.

I'm worried about passenger side. The ABS/VDC hydraulic unit is too close to headlight cap.

I don't even know there they are. I have never had to use them
