Default Flip key

I found this flip key on ebay, do you think it would work for our key fob model?

I got a similar one for a gen 4. The spring that flips the key could be stronger but other than that it's perfect. Swap the guts from your fob to this key and get it cut. Should work just fine. Be careful when taking the flip key apart! It can be kind of a pain.

Thanks for the input, but it doesn't really help, cause the case is a for a 1994 legacy and it says nothing about the 1997.

If the blade pictured is the one you're getting, then no, it won't work for a USDM 1997 model. Wrong keyway.

Blade pictured is a X237/DA34 10 cut keyway which is used on 2nd gen Outbacks. You'd need the X210/DA23 8-cut key.

I do not sell in my shop nor reccomend the 'remodeler' flip keys sold on eBay. They're junk, IMHO.

Always parting/fixing a subie or three. . . email me if you need parts. Mostly fool with 2nd gen stuff (00-04).

I seem to get a lot of "will xx fit in my car?" emails. . . I'm not the authority on everything Subaru, so I very well may tell you the wrong answer as there's nobody else to check me. Please search or ask via the forums first. . .when I answer you via email, it never gets posted and nobody else can confirm or refute my answer.
