Never had a car where this wasn't configurable... used to be this was the type of thing the dealer had to do with a tech/computer, but nowadays with the complex settings menu this is end-user configurable...
with my menus, it shows me the keyless menu which seems to allow this (there is no good reason why the Premium should even allow me to see this screen).. but since I don't have the keyless, I can't change this setting, and don't see any other setting to do this.
Dealer thinks if *might* be something they can do with a Technician.. but it would cost me for the effort (tho they said there would be no charge if they try and can't get it to happen)....
anyone know?
sounds like a minor complaint, but it will end up being several thousand extra clicks over the life of the car.. with young kids you really hate to get to the car door and find you have to fish that key back out (b/c you didn't click it twice even tho you thought you did) and do something when your hands are full.
I haven't figured a way yet. It appears like you should be able to do this in the menus. In mine "all doors" is selected and "drivers door only" is grayed out. Regardless, one touch of the remote only unlocks the drivers door only.
For the rear hatch button, "all doors" is again selected and the "hatch only" is grayed out. Same result, hit the button once and the hatch is unlocked, hit it twice and they are all unlocked.
Honestly seems like a software error to me. I'm going to have the dealer look at it when I take it in for the first oil change.
I think this option is only available on models with Keyless Access (see P.23 of the Owners manual). I do know that it works on my Limited with Keyless access.
It prevents wanted persons from entering when I forget to press the button more than once.. and the only vehicle I have ever owned with power locks which did not permit the owner to chose to enable/disable per their personal choice.
I have no problem with them offering people the choice to have it either way.. I have every problem with them not making it configurable. There is no excuse for that in this day/age of being able to put extensive configuration menus within the reach of the consumer (via Infotainment centers), and apparently they do so with the keyless model.. this is not something I should have to pay $$$$ for (to get a Limited with keyless)
It can be set for vehicles with the navigation screen and keyless entry - see pages 185-186 of the Navigation System Manual - vehicle settings screen. Nine different things can be adjusted with this screen.
Had a thought.. wondered if anyone had tried this before...
On any model without keyless entry.. a single press of the FOB will unlock the drivers door, and this is not configurable
when you press the FOB, an electrical pulse is (presumably) sent in the drivers door to the lock on that door. What if we were to short that over to the "unlock" button on the drivers door ... ie. the FOB pulse would be sent to the "all unlock" button... and we'd get the function which some of us want (single press for all-unlock)
the only hitch I could think of would be whether it ends up as a continuous loop.
They usually have a BUS system and in this case, each door has some kind of control module. Then there is a higher-up central control module that is to control pretty much everything (other than engine, transmission, etc). This central control module will tell each individual models what they should do. This should be configurable by software (if it was designed with that flexibility) and dealers sometimes do not know everything.
As far as I know, it's a programmable item; the dealer has to hook his laptop to your car and it will display him items that are defaults and which can be re-programmed.
There is a section in your manual in Door Unlock Selection Function, and it reads that it has 2 options: operational/non operational settings - This settings can be changed by the Dealer only. Once it is changed from default (operational) settings (by the Dealer), you will be able to unlock all doors with one (first) click. The dealer has to turn this to non-operational settings (if I understand correctly) - could be the other way around..
This has been posted on another forum:
When this item is turned on, only the driver’s
door is unlocked after the door unlock operation
is performed once. All of the doors can be
unlocked if the door unlock operation is performed
again within 1 minute.
When this item is turned off, all the doors will be
unlocked after the door unlock operation is
performed once.
1. Press the Drive Mode Select button.
2. Press the SETUP button.
3. Turn the Selection dial to “Selective Door
Unlock” then press the ENTER button.
4. Turn the Selection dial to select “ON” or
“OFF”, then press the ENTER button to
apply the selection. The indicator will turn
red when selective door unlock is on.
I don't have 2015 model, so I can only quote what I have found elsewhere....they quote page 2-17 in your manual....

I was able to set it thru the setting on the touchscreen cause my daughter has complained that she has to wait for me to manually unlock the doors after I got in the car when it's too cold in Canada.
EDIT: and in the US, this is an optional pkg only(?) available on the Limited.. the keyless feature supports configurable door unlocking ... this thread is not intended for those folks.. it is intended for those who do not have the Keyless feature, b/c those of us without keyless are not able to configure how the doors unlock.
i read the section on the owners manual i can't figure if its only for push button start
but press once for driver press quickly twice (like my ody) to open all
If you look at the table of contents, it says that section is for keyless. (and yet still shows up in our options menus, even tho it doesn't do anything)
How we are in 2014 (almost 2015) and this isn't user configurable on *all* trim level boggles the mind.
I have keyless access (and push button start) on a limited, so this may not apply at all. But if I use the fob on the driver side to open touching the door handle, it opens only that door. If I use the same (or second) fob on the passenger side, touching the door handle opens all doors. So if you do not have push button start, what happens when YOU open from the passenger side?
I've given up on trying to get the Subaru to reset to open all the doors and just hit the button twice to open all doors. The settings on the head unit have "Open All Doors" checked but it just won't do it.
I have a Premium with Keyless (not Push start). I only have the hazard light flash option in the method you describe using the steering wheel mounted control.
I have Nav and can see more setting in the Nav screen (vehicle customization) such as turning off the beep, but nothing there lets me set the fob to one touch operation.
