I wish I would have kept the rubber floor mats from my 09 Outback when I traded it in on my new 2015 Outback because the new rubber floor mats have no side protection nor any way to retain water or mud.
I got the Weather Tech floor mats and am so happy with them I just had to share.
They aren't cheap, at $190 with shipping. But they are awesome and fit like a glove. They also protect the carpet from dirt and moisture allot better than the Subaru mats ever will.

Congrats. Love mine too! Some people here love the huskys better- I like the WT's better. Its actually cool there is selection to serve different tastes with great floor mats.
Enjoy your purchase! They look great!
It's always hard to say whether I'd like the weathertechs better without actually ordering them. I am happy with the Husky's though, esp. as they are $99.
I just installed the weathertechs in mine and dont like the fit of the passenger front. the right front corner does not seem to match the curve of that corner causing the front of the mat to sit 1.5 inch away from the carpet. Do you not have that fit issue?

I also have the weather techs. My ob is a 3.6r charcoal grey. When I got the mats the passenger side had a gap. You can bend it out to reshape and fit more snuggly. This works better at warmer temps ie inside your house.I think when they are shipped it can contort their shape a bit and they need reshaping.I find them easy to clean and easy to remove. To me the coverage is adequate and I liked the look better than the huskys even tho they are more $. JMO
I had the same problem with the passenger mat [gap on the right side].
I used a hair dryer[set on high/Hot] and flattened the right edge approx. 3 - 4 inches flatter than needed. I then placed the mat in the car, and pressed it into place. Within a week of driving [winter with the heater on] the mat conformed properly.
I just got my Husky's and while the Weathertech are a seemingly tougher material, the Husky's are much cheaper, they seem to fit just fine, and after a bad experience with Weathertech customer support, I consider their warranty to be worthless and bogus.
do you think the weathertechs hold water in them pretty well? ive been reading that they are only 1/8 high? water can overspill? i will either get these or huskys
They're allot deeper than 1/8" and I'd say they hold quite a bit of liquid.
I looked at the Huskies and they look allot like the Weather Techs.
I'd say either one would work awesome!
No problem at all containing water, at least for what I expect from a mat. Obviously if you put a full litre in it and then go on a 25% grade over rough roads, you will get spillage... for for regular use, it's does well.
The only complaint I have is that they fit better on initial install .. over the winter through lots of freeze-thaw cycles they shrunk a bit and leave a small (up to 1.5 cm) gap between the edge of the mat and the wall. I don't notice it really and nothing has gotten under it, so it's not a big deal for me.
I really want to say thanks for those pictures. I hadn't gotten the OEM rubber mats when I got my OB because I had originally seen Amazon had them cheaper than what SOA charges. But I kept hearing they weren't very good and everyone recommends the Husky or Weathertech. But I kept wondering, just how bad were they really? And your pictures showed me exactly how bad. I'll probably get the Husky though, as they are a little cheaper and look to be suitable for my needs.
Awesome photo, love that grill. USDM can get this from Japanparts.com but not those all weather mats. I don't think the mats will fit, steering wheel is on wrong side.
Yeah you're right about the mats. They are definitely side specific with different lengths at the front and the cutout for fuel release flap, and Japan is RHD like Australia.
The photos aren't mine, there from the Subaru Australia website for the Outback accessories. Mine is Dark Grey Metallic (almost black), so its a black grille on a black car. Looks great.
