[quote Hey, you & I have the same car!

I'm on the once-a-year plan. But it really depends on where you live & park your car. If your seats are in the sun all day, every day, they will need more attention than mine.

For me, Spring is when I clean the leather, and Fall is when I drain & fill the ATF. Spring & Fall are also my bi-annual/synthetic/5K oil change.

This summer will be the exception with a 5000-mile/5-week road trip...but usually this plan works with a garaged non-commuter Outback in California.

    Hey Jeff,
Cool, I just picked mine up on memorial day! could not have made a better buy! Thanks for the heads up, mine will be a daily driver so will need to take care of the interior more often. Although I live in SF so the sun is not much of a problem.

I just noticed...a bunch of people have visited this page in the last few months...so maybe I should post something here. OK...

My avatar is clipped from video taken at the wheel of my Outback on California SR 108 westbound from Sonora pass. Sweeping curves at 75mph with fresh air streaming in the windows, pines towering on either side of the road, mountain-filled horizon in the distance, and no other cars. I know a little secret...

I believe that dreamers, doers, makers, teachers, builders, fixers, healers, storytellers, researchers, explorers, and iconoclasts are the future of humanity. Parasites need not apply.

I enjoy my Outback (2001 H6 VDC) more than any car I have ever driven. I would love a new one, but the last 2 generations have been increasingly disappointing. I hope that Subaru will saturate the market with their "mainstream" designs in the next couple of years, and then return to great functional design to recapture their original customers.
