Don't have my street bikes anymore but I love my dirt bikes. Some day I'd like to get a enduro type like a BMW R 1200 GS, aim high right?

I got all my crashing out of the way when I was younger and on dirt bikes...big fun, and I'd still like to take one out in the woods sometime but can't risk my wasted knees. Too much abuse from my job over the years and at 47, I'm way too young for replacements. Better living through medication and smooth pavement, sez I, but there is this old Yamaha DT 400 my buddy has...and I wonder sometimes if I shouldn't rescue it from his garage someday.
Funny how the amount of snow you get is in direct proportion to the amount of posts regarding armchair motorcycling you add to an ancient thread... |

Rode a Valkarie since 99, bought new moved it at 48k, replaced it with a new Goldwing. Also run a 650 L when I get the taste for dirt.
Some years I get 7500-9000 miles, others 3000 miles depending on family which comes 1st. Godspeed |

I've had alot of bikes. The last fast ones were ZRX1200 Kawasakis. Right now I have a HD Road King Custom and a Suzuki DR650. The Harley is very comfortable for cruising around but I love having the dual sport. It does it all.

If it weren't for rain and snow I'd be riding my 87 Yamaha FZ700. I drive a lot of short trips for work so rain gear takes more time to put on/remove than my ride. Bought the subie just after the rain started this year and had it in Tahoe last weekend.

I ride a 2006 Yamaha YZF600R. Was my dream first bike. Capable yet very street friendly sportbike. More than capable and comfortable enough to be a sport tourer too. tailcase, saddlebags, tankbag packed up, the wife and I have gone on 1500-2000 mile road trips 2up on it. My wife has an 04 KLR-250 given to her by her dad as a starter bike.. Just haven't gotten it road worthy. Carb cleaning and blown rear shock have made it a "round to it project".
We're trying to find a reasonably priced Ninja 250 or 650R, maybe even an early 2000s SV650 for her and I'm still deciding on whether the next toy will be an FJR1300 or V-Strom 650 (WeeStrom). 2 completely different styles but both fun solo or with passenger for my type of riding. I'm in no hurry to add to the stable. But if the perfect deal comes around, it'll be hard not to make garage space. ![]() I'm very fortunate that the wife shares interest in the 2 wheeled world. She's been getting ansy to get her own ride.. ![]()

My daily rider is a 2011 V-Strom, wife's is a 2005 Suzuki S40. Sitting in the garage is a 1976 Honda Goldwing LTD that my buddy and I are doing a re-condition on. No plans on a frame up restoration, just enough to get the Wing in decent cosmetic and mechanical shape.
