Default Are you a motorcycle rider too?

I've seen a few mentions of motorcycles here and there on these forums. Love my Soob, oh yes I do, but I'd rather be on two wheels than four...even if all four are churning! 27 years on 10 different street bikes, had Harleys and Triumphs mostly, but the big 'ol Royal Star Tour Deluxe is the best bike I ever had.

So, do you ride or are you a motorcycle owner? What do you ride when you're not in your AWD cage?

~R

PS: And if you do ride, but aren't so hardcore that you ever had a nickname, maybe this site will help:

I like bikes.

It has been years since my departure from my last one. It was a 1982 Yamaha Virago 920 V-Twin. Liked it a lot. But my time on a bike was little to nothing, so I finally gave it up. Although having a current MC License, I have not ridden in years.

My first love was a 1975 Honda CB750K. A 750 Four cylinder. Was a smooth ride.

I have thought about getting another, but it would be an extremely fair weather friend love affair for me which I cannot justify right now.

Absolutely! Especially since your deathwish trumps my deathwish! lol! I had a...99? Polaris 500 diesel...kinda loud, it stunk, it topped out at about 30 mph, but man that ignorant SOB would pull over a tree. A huge help when we first moved into this house and I had a lot of foliage removal to do.

I have a buddy who had a Sportsman 700, and I rode it once. Now THAT was big fun! If you need any rationalization to move up a couple hundred cc's, you just PM me!

I ride a 1980 SR500 thumper. Love it, but don't get nearly enough time on two wheels.

Brooks.

I have been riding since my early teens. I started out on Enduros and Dual Sports, and finally bought my first street bike in January.

My List in Chronological Order:

1987 Honda Fat Cat 200
1993 Yamaha TW200
1988 Yamaha XT350 (current)
1996 Honda Magna 750 (current)

It was a real transition moving from a dual sport to a street bike, the feel is so totally different. You mentioned you loved your Tour Deluxe. . .my dad was recently in the market for a bike of that ilk and road a wide variety of bikes. He ended up getting a Vulcan Nomad, and he couldn't be happier with his decisions. He originally though the Tour Deluxe was going to be the ticket, but found that the Nomad had a lot more grunt, and was quite the looker too.

My XT350:

My main transportation is my 85 Honda V65 Sabre. The Soob is now used mainly by my daughter, or when large loads or weather conditions force me to cage it. I ride about 20K miles per year.

I'm restoring a 1964 Honda CB77, which will get 70mpg and still hit the ton when it's done, and looking for a nice Valkyrie for touring 2-up.
