We've been looking for quite a while to find the right fit for our family and finally found him.
Bob aka (Bobaaaay!) is a 4 year old retired Greyhound racer with a quiet but playful disposition. He took an immediate liking to the kids and snuggled right up with them. He has short single coated fur which should be helpful for my moderate allergies compared to a double coated dog. We'll be picking him up next week and will post pics once he's home with us. Looks like it's gonna be time for a bigger vehicle soon! (that'll replace the minivan, not the Subie!)

Retired racing Greyhounds are wonderful dogs! I had one, he passed on 2 years ago at almost 14 years of age. They are different from other dogs in a bunch of subtle ways, but I'm sure the agency you are working with will go over all of that with you. Good luck with your new dog!

Glad to hear another orphan went to a good home.

You would not believe how much we miss our dearly-departed Indydog, who was not a great racer but the best companion anyone could ever have. He was the sweetest, most devoted, most trusting dog in the history of the world. I'm starting to tear up just thinking about him.
Be patient with your dog, teach him about the world, and never let him run outside an enclosed area. Good on you! |

beautiful dog. Congratulations!
The "one ear up, one ear down" thing is almost uncanny - our Indydog had one chomped ear, and when he was attentive it would be up. His intact ear would be down unless a wascally wabbit was around, then it was both ears straight up. Keep us updated. |
