As I look more into each candidate, I find myself agreeing more and more with Ron Paul. Just as I blew off my extremist friends how have been toughting him for the past 4 years lol
Not so much on all of his thoughts, but on those I don't agree with he agrees that the States should govern themselves, not be mandated by the federal government. I'm still trying to get as much info, but if he's still in it when WV hits the primaries, he'll probably get my vote. With the elections set up as they are and with the antiquated electoral college voting system, I just can't see voting for a candidate in the general election if they aren't on a ticket. |

I'd vote for Colbert above any of the current options.
Sadly all of the republican candidates are horrible. The one person who has been honest is a bit nuts and unelectable. I think Romney will get the nomination. Ron Paul will go independent. Steven Colbert will get on there as well as an independent. Then Obama will win because the horribly divided and out of touch republican party will lose too many votes to the independents. I personally haven't bought into all of the Obama hate. Maybe because I was more realistic about him when he got elected. It was obvious that he was promising way more than he could possibly deliver. I also voted for him, not because he was an amazing perfect candidate, but because I would rather move to canada than deal with Sarah Palin in the white house! I wasn't really that let down by him other than his lack of balls when the republicans were just crapping on him...until the indefinite detention thing. Now I think we're screwed either way. |

USA Today ran an article a week ago that showed only two presidential candidates in history had been elected who were over 65 years old. Considering that and the fact I'd like to have a former governor (read manager) in the mix to choose from it makes it hard. Didn't even have the former governor choice last presidential election. Add to these thing the fact that most presidential candidates mostly seem to be second stringers. After all, who in their right mind would want to run for the office and then actually occupy it?
It's hard fulfilling my duties as a citizen. |
