I wish I could get Moose Drool (or Fat Tire) out here. I just stocked up on Sam Adams Octoberfest before I couldn't get it anymore. Bought two 24-packs for $46 total, so now I have a large stash for Winter!

Just tried an Elliot Ness for the first time last week. Decent, but I found the Commodore Perry more to my liking. Great brewery!

So... what's in your glass?

What's lurking in the back of your fridge? Your basement? Your dreams?

I've got Sixpoint Resin in the glass, New Glarus, Russian River & Anchorage Brewing (among others) in the fridge.

I think I have some 2009 Rodenbach in the cellar.
Good call. I have a 16oz Heady Topper (Alchemist), 2 Blue Point Hoptical Illusions, and a Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale.

Good call on the AB....I love Stone (their Ruination IPA is also quite fantastic). Have you tried their Oaked AB?

I have 3 Heady Toppers left in the fridge. IN my mind that is the best stuff on the east coast there is.

I also have a Dogfish Head "Bitches Brew" in the fridge waiting for a night when i can enjoy it with the album. I have heard it is very different, much like the album: dark, funky and .... well .... electric.

That's a wacky beer. I shared a bottle with some friends while camping. My sister didn't like it. I thought it was ok- lots of different flavors kicking around, but not a beer I'll pay a premium for in the future.

I think my favorite DFHes are their 75-minute and the Saison du Buff. Victory & Stone collaborated on this last beer as well. The Victory batch turned out pretty bad, but the DFH was excellent and the Stone was also extremely good.

If you think your home brew is good - submit it to competition held by Sam Adams every year.

My cousin did this last year and got runner up to 1st

Two good ones, but too bad about your limited selection. As a
dedicated pils addict, I can't imagine having only two beers on
hand -- and two of exactly the same style, at that.

Don't know where you are, but the "Budvar" label doesn't exist
in the USofA (except on Embassy Row in DC). That name has
problems with some US trademarks owned by Anheuser-Busch.
We get the same beer here, but the label says "Czechvar."

Quote:
Experts agree that those are the best beers in the world.
Beer experts (whatever that means) seldom agree on anything,
and certainly not on who makes the best pilsners. For example,
the "experts" at BeerAdvocate.com give Victory's Prima Pils and
their (several variants of) Braumeister Pils significantly higher
scores. (Victory's only the first brewer I checked this evening.)

I'm not dissing Pilsner Urquell or Czechvar, by any means --
they're two of the dozens of pilsners on my "top three" list.
OTOH, it would be a cryin' shame to limit one's pils tastings
to just two. Even more of a shame to ignore the hundreds
of other beer styles and hunker down in a pils-only bubble.

...zum Wohl,

Looby
