There are grey-market imports of budvar to be had, as well as the czechvar-labeled ones. It's budvar in a disguise to get around the trademark thing.
The sam adams pilsner that came out last year is quite good. Also agree about the prima. I find most victory beers to be too hot; too boozy for the flavor. A few avoid that problem and thus really stand out though, including the headwaters & prima. |

I'm a huge fan of Bristol's Laughing Lab. Their seasonal Scotch Ale is very good too.
I had Murphy's Irish Ale on tap in Scotland. Thought it was awesome, but I haven't been as impressed with it in the US. |

I'm seriously laughing at pilsner urquel being the best beer in the world. Just because it has history and had a huge impact on the beer industry does not make it "the best beer". That's just ignorant considering how vast the craft beer market is. BTW, it also still comes in green bottles, so most of the time it's absolute crap when we get it.
I'm currently sitting on some firestone parabola and autumn maple from the bruery. As for homebrew, I have 6 gallons of a belgian wheat wine, a few gallons left of an awesome ryePA, a few juniper trippels and some wee heavy. |

I also like Yuengling on tap, if Sam Adams is not available.... Personally, I like the Andechs beer best. Its brewed by monks in a monastery, south of Munich. Taste that one, if you are in that neck of the woods and you will agree! |

At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Budweiser was the beverage sponsor for the matches. I think it was the first time they had tried this. Bud was the only beer you could get at the stadiums. Apparently the police & event organizers loved it, because alcohol-related crime & drunk driving were down about 2/3 from normal. The souvenir people loved it because all the fans still had money left as they walked out of the stadium. It was relentlessly mocked by pretty much everyone who wasn't trying to sell it. And South Africa hasn't had a craft beer renaissance- you just can't get any of the really good stuff. Even so, Namibian Windhoek and Carling Marzen weren't awful. On the other hand, at the 2012 Olympics in London, it wasn't hard to find American craft beers in local bars. Brooklyn and Rogue were probably best represented. I was a little let down but only because I had hoped to try more UK brews instead. |
