I was distracted, so I kept driving. I saw all kinds of traffic signs, first in French, then German and finally in Croatian, but I kept driving because I was distracted.
Classic.

LOL any of you try to use a GPS device in any country in Europe? They are about as accurate as a Scud missile left over from the Kuwait invasion. However you cannot fix stupid. LOL

Why should the accuracy depend on the location (given you have enough reception)?

Military blackouts cover all sorts of random locations through out Europe. The roads get changed surprisingly quite often and the maps do not get updated very often. Croatia, Germany, Spain, France even London are not fun to try and use GPS based driving directions if it involves passing through more than one town.

Been there done that a few times over the years.

Why should in Europe be more military blackouts than elswhere? Seems once again to be your nationalistic blaster.

Rest is depending on your device. Garmins are subpar in Europe, better take Navtec or Tele Atlas based maps for Europe.

LOL right - been a bunch of places more so than most Americans for sure. I happen to race sailboats and know more than most about GPS systems as a result.

Yes there are lots of very odd black out areas in Europe for many reasons we never see in the US. Much of them military related or national security related etc. As a result the GPS systems are not anywhere as easy to sort out and use in Europe as they are here in the US.

Spain was the worst of the places with poor mapping details and GPS blacked out areas.

My mom could have done this. She has mild cognitive impairment. Her short term memory doesn't function properly so every five minutes or so we have to repeat instructions as if we never said anything previously. She is a pretty good driver still, but needs prompting to remember why she is in the car to begin with. Garmin doing so, I can imagine she could get pretty far. It is a sad state of affairs.
