I know of a guy who posts here (Scoobydoo2 I think) from the east coast has a shaker. I'm not sure though if he bought his car here or in the US.
At the dealership where I bought my '11 OB - they've never had a 'shaker', but I didn't ask everyone there yet. Service Manager is never in when I am there (weekends usually). |

I'm not sure if I have a shaker or not but I do have a slight vibration in the steering wheel. NOTHING compared to my '04 Maxima. Hence the not so sure part.
How "violent" are the "real" shakers? I could also say that my dad's 2010 has the same vibration. |

I'm not sure too..but recently (almost 40,000 km on my car) I started noticing my steering starting to shake at 110 km/hr. When I let it go, you can see the occillation on a straight flat highway (Hwy 99 driving between White Rock and Richmond). When I hold it there's a light pulsing. When I drop my speed back to 100 Km/hr, it's smooth again. I'm trying to deny myself I have a shaker but I fear I have one now. Prior to this I never notice. Been reading about this issue for a while now...Anyone has this fix at Wolfe Subaru? or dealt with a shaker at Wolfe? |

There definitely have been several Canadian forum members who have reported having a shaker over the last year and a half.
Since your Outbacks are made in the same factory as the US Outbacks (and made the same way with the same components etc) it's not at all surprising.

I believe we have a shaker. Just started dealing with it. The dealer did the RFB TSB. It helped a little, but it's still there. We're trying to decide if it's worth the bother of going through the whole process to fix it, as the roads up here are so crappy, it's often hard to notice. On a plus note. Had the car in some "off roading" on the weekend and it out performed a Dodge 4x4 pickup, in terms of getting us in & out with no fuss or muss or bother!

After about 6 trips to the dealer. The dealer reduced the shakes to a point where I barely notice it and only if I am looking for them. Hopefully this fix will actually last.

Got my appt next week Tuesday at Wolfe Subaru in Langley. Any BC cars get their shakers fixed in the Vancouver area?
Will report back my experience with them as I deal with them. |
