Lift kit LP Aventure pour outback 2010-2016 bientôt disponible. Voici une photo de notre kit prototype sur notre Outback 2016.
-------- LP Adventure lift kit will soon be available for the 2010-2016 outback.
Here is a picture of our prototype kit on our 2016 Outback.
I feel the need to warn folks about this product. I just had this LP Aventure kit professionally installed. Between the kit and installation it cost roughly $1200 and ended up with no ground clearance increase at all. All this does is give you a bigger gap in the wheel well but you can't put a taller tire in because the strut is in the way. It raises the seat, deck and roof slightly but then lowers the sub frame so why bother?
If anyone knows how this can improve anything, please let me know.
Here is what I have and this is the stock tires. I don't have room to go any taller yet the lowest hanging undercarriage parts for ground clearance are no higher than my wifes stock Forester.
I could have accomplished the same thing just by dropping to a 17 inch wheel with a taller tire and forgot about the lift kit.
I was originally assured on the phone that this kit would increase ground clearance. Maybe marginally a fraction for the bumpers and sides of the car but I didn't improve it at all for the things under the car that snag on sand and mudholes.
What is your minimal clearance with your 245-65-17 tire? It looks like if I spend another $1200 on tires and wheels the most I could possibly get is another 1/2 inch of ground clearance. It looks like I could have done the same with the just the tires and wheels without purchasing the kit since the kit does not lift the sub frame.
When you measure your ground clearance from the lowest hanging parts of your car, are you seeing any more than the stock 8.7 inches? I do not.
Lift a car gives not just "ground clearance"... This improves the angle of attack, the space between the full underside of the vehicle except the diff back like a jeep...
you know how a jeep is done? LoL
I dont know how the liftkit cost you 1200$ ????? Its very sample to install ...
I showed 2 different garages your instructions and both gave me estimates of installation $500 including alignment. The final cost was $445.
I am just saying that when a customer calls, you should be truthful and tell them that it will not increase the minimum ground clearance. it only slightly raises the sides and bumpers about an inch. I can see where that may help rock climbing and such but I did ask the specific ground clearance question when I ordered.
Thanks! I suspect some of the misunderstanding may have been because when I called, I was speaking to someone who speaks French and i was speaking English.
Bottom line is that this kit does not increase your minimal ground clearance, The only way to do it is with a taller tire. The kit does slightly raise the deck and bumpers. Even if you drop down to a 245/65/17 the difference is going to be less than 1/2 inch. My stock 18 inch tire is 28.6 inches. The 245/65/17 that he recommends here is 29.5 inches so all that will give you is a .45 inch increase in height or less than 1/2 inch. Hardly seems worth it to buy at least another $1300 in wheels and tires. That is a very expensive half inch.
He never did answer me as to exactly where he is seeing his claimed 9.5 inches of clearance.
I think the OB is absolutely gorgeous with that lift kit and wheel/tire combo. and to me, thats worth doing it. i couldnt care if it gave me more ground clearance or not. if you were trying to accomplish ground clearance, perhaps it should have been looked into a little more. I think from my experience this shop is pretty honest and knowledgeable about their products and service. sorry to hear about your negative experience strman.
On this car, isn't addressing the approach angles giving you way more offroad capability than increasing clearance (which is already pretty good?). With the approach angle improvements, I'm sure a lot more terrain is opened up.
Looks fantastic. If LP can provide a 1 inch or 1.5 inch lift would be great. With this I believe you don't need the multi link spacers for rear.
Just 1 inch spacers for front and rear, this would put the outback at 9.7 inches which is more than enough for most off pavement adventures
We need to lowers the rear subframe.. help to maintain the original positioning of the rear wheels. Which is very useful to prevent rubbing when using larger diameter tires.
Can i do the whole rims/tires package without the lift? will it rub? those FC01's are discontinued as per FAST. how can i get my hands on a set of those? I'll be chatting with you more when i come to the shop this week to pick up my forester. >
Ok, did the Full Monte and installed bigger tires and 17 inch wheels. The tires make a huge difference and I'm glad i did the whole package, the LP Aventure lift and the taller tires. I went with the Geolander A/T GO15, 245/65/17 and Konig Runlight rims. The rims only weigh 19 pounds and the tires give me another 1/2 inch of ground clearance. I just took her down to the beach and have to tell you that this vehicle is by far the best all around vehicle that I have owned and the best beach vehicle out of all the 4wd's that I have owned going back to the 70s. Today is typically a tough sand day. It hasn;t rained for a few days and the sand is very dry, hot and powdery. The only vehicles down there that seem to be working as easily as the Outback are Tacomas. A very special Thanks to Grant the pioneer for giving me the wheel and tire advice.
BTW, the tires and wheels came from Discount tire and seem to be balanced perfectly. I first tried to give the business to my dealer. They didn't have a clue and never did call me back. TireRack told me the tires would not fit. Discount said they would and they got my business. Even though the wheels were special order, it all arrived UPS within a week and this old geezer had them installed in my driveway in a couple of hours.
