I bought my new 2010 in NH back in Sept 2009 and never had any problem with the warranty in Canada.
I had three recalls performed at NO Charge at my local Subaru dealer and the only warranty work done so far was for reprogramming the ECM following a TSB. I paid for the work and them submitted the claim to Subaru U.S. After two weeks I emailed SOA to inquire about my claim and they sent me a case number so the claim could be tracked. The refund came back 7 weeks later and was for the exact amount I paid in Canada but the check was in U.S funds. Everything went smootly. So go ahead and please yourself !!!! |

My warranty has been fine in the USA. Just take the car across the border if something big happens.
You can buy private warranties but it would be better to buy a car that does not need a warranty. |

I just had my first experience with my usa subaru getting fixed in canada and so far it hasn't been very positive. It took 8 weeks to get a cheque and we're out about $600 on a $3200 fix (shaking tsb and new tires etc) We figured out that subaru usa hadn't cover the shop supplies or the 12%tax. I'm trying to figure out if others have had the same experience and have found 1 person thus far, that said their entire bill had been covered, including tax. will be on the phone again to subaru on Monday. Can anyone else comment?

Update: Even though I have some info from a few other Cdn owners about their full payout from soa, they are still denying $600 of our money... Can't figure out what went wrong. If anyone out there has the actual numbers of labor, parts, tax listed on their invoice and can give me the details, or the invoice number, I would have some evidence of this. The problem is that when you call soa, you get a customer service person and you can't talk to anyone in finance. The person we're dealing with could well not know what he's talking about and we can't seem to get anywhere with him.
help! |
