I searched and don't see a thread like that, and I'm not sure where might be a good place to put such a thread. I'm talking about roadways, not trails, so it doesn't seem to be a good fit for Unpaved. I'd have something of a formula for posts in it, and would love to lead it off.

one of my most memorable is the highway 12 between Trinidad and Walsenberg Colorado.
Zion National Park comes to mind as well.

Drives as in driving or - scenic rides? I would expect GREAT DRIVES to be something found in the legacy or Miata forums and Scenic rides found in the OB forum. LOL
Great all time Drives - Hwy 128 from 101 to Highway 1 in Northern CA a proper handling car this drive is epic and really gives your shifting and cornering skills a solid workout not to mention you can stop at some GREAT Winery's between grooving the curves. Also very pretty ride through the Navarro Valley along the river and through the Redwoods to the Coast. For a tire shredding perma grin drive fest - early to mid week after schools are back in session Highway 1 from Socal to San Francisco is a ghost town and hanging the tail out drifting through switch backs and hammering through big sweeping turns with the Pacific Ocean on your left side will be burned into your memory forever. The set of tires you trash in a few hours will be worth it LOL. Yes I did that ride in a nice handling car. Great Scenic rides? Oh in that case Avenue of the Giants in Humbolt Nor Cal, 395 in NV to Tioga Pass then drop into Yosemite from the top. Car ferry to Widbey Island - then across to the Olympic Peninsula and down 1 all the way to CA Border. |

I think each post should rate the trip on a 1 to 10 scale for scenery, traffic, remoteness and services (gas, food and lodging). John Davies Spokane WA USA
