Classifieds by Area/Region

Hello, let me start by saying I love this site, very informational and fun to view. My only suggestion is that we could have a classified ad in the region area. I had a Jeep XJ (Cherokee) and their forum had the classified broken up into the regions, made it a lot easier for selling and buying items, especially if you wanted to meet the person and see an item first hand.

I don't know the first thing when it comes to web design, so if its not possible, or if you think this won't go over well with the rest of the forum users, then I understand and thanks for this site.

Craigs list far larger audience and its built for posting adds. Even if there was an option of adds here I wouldn't even bother.

True, but many people on CL don't even know what they're selling. I've asked "what size are your Subaru rims?", and some people didn't even know. I would figure that people here would know more, or someone would chime in and correct the OP.

I agree...someone posted Subaru 16" Factory Aluminum Rims on the CL around here a month or two ago. I inquired about them and they sent me a picture of generic steel rims.

That happens here too you guys. If I'm looking for a car I go to Craigs list and use SearchTempest and set my mileage range. If I'm looking for specialty parts or random bits like stock wheels I look for posters who are selling their wheels.

Two different needs two very different tools.

I'm not saying that it won't/can't happen here, I just figure it would be less likely. Plus, a random person on CL is just that...a random person on CL. At least a random person here cares enough about their Outback to be a part of the community (and I do value the Subaru community). Maybe it won't be as helpful as I might want it to be, but I don't think it would be detrimental, and I don't believe it would be a difficult change. Classifieds->[Region]->Ad, and you could still search all regions by searching at the top level of the classifieds.

Like I said, I have no clue about web design but if you check out NAXJA.org you can browse by region. And to speak about community, they also have what they call a Karma area, where one member can give away free stuff to other members. Maybe I shouldn't, but I trust people on this forum more than a guy selling on CL.
