After deciding I wanted a 2012 Outback, I contacted 2 dealerships:
1) Subaru Superstore in Gilbert
2) Camelback Subaru in Phx.

My preference was to work with the Gilbert store as its much closer to where I live. They honored USAA rates ($200 over invoice). We couldn't work out a deal because of value of trade in. They offered $3200 for my 2001 330xi with 84k miles. I went to Camelback for an almost identical car, they honored USAA rates, and gave me $7k for trade, sight unseen on car. We agreed to terms before I got there, contingent on a inspection of car. Their 'inspection' took less than 1m. No major issues with paperwork, though car was delivered a week later than expected. They provided a loaner to bridge the gap. I do think the salesman lied to me about cause of delay (said union slow down at railway which I later concluded was untrue), but overall went relatively easy.

All in all, both dealerships were fine, but got better offer at Camelback.
