Default Green Subaru of Springfield, Illinois

Well folks last night I attempted to cut a deal on a new 2012 Outback 3.6R Limited with Green Subaru of Springfield, Illinois. Here are a few thoughts, I'll also say that I have not purchased a vehicle from this dealership (yet).

1. Would not move lower on the price from MSRP.

2. Did not give me Subaru's Guaranteeed Trade-in Program value for my Outback and claimed a light scratch caused them to deduct $1500 from my trade value

3. Did not disclose details of financing, only told me monthly payment but did not name rate or term length.

Overall I'm pretty disappointed with Green Subaru's sales department. They gave me the old "we want to earn your business" schtick but didn't seem at all motivated to work a deal let alone make a sale. Right now I'll wait to pass futher judgement, in the meantime I may look into dealing with Uftring Subaru in Peoria.

If you're going to be in the Chicagoland area at any point, I'd contact Grand Subaru.

Their service department was good to work with, and thei seem to have decent reviews overall.

LOL, MSRP for a 2012 model is laughable.

You should give SOA a call in regards to them not honoring the GTP.

Got tired of getting "wheeled and dealed" from my last Suby dealership so I went online, found the 2012 suOutback we wanted from a dealer 100 miles away, did the deal over the phone (including the trade in), drove there and picked it up the car the next day.

Working through Costco works well too. Even if you don't buy through them you start the negotiation at or under invoice.

There should be a lot more movement on price on the 3.6R's. Subaru doesn't sell nearly as many of those. I suspect they thought you would go with their deal anyway or they could lure another sap.

Silly, so silly.
