I was smoking something I think...I don't know where I got 3000 miles a month from. My typical week is somewhere between 300 and 450 which does NOT get me to 3K a month. So...don't feel so bad!

![]() ![]() Kona Jake the Snake 2005. I use it for everything, getting to work sometimes, Few short distance triathlon competitions, training. Love that bike! I know you guys are laughing at my gear, but I´m running on a very low budget ![]() I got two other old Kona MTB bikes - Lava Dome ´99 and Fire Mountain (don´t know year), both steel frame bikes. Lava is for MTB stuff and Fire mountain is my daily ride. Now it has studded Nokian winter tires front back. |

Any of you with 2010 OB's, what sort of bike rack are you using (given the "unique" 2010 roof rack)? Did you spring for the Subaru accessory roof rack?. Given the fixed 30" or so cross-bar spacing, it wasn't clear to me what the best choice would be, or if there are any bike-size limitations with the Subaru accessory bike rack.
I have been just throwing my bike in the back of my old Ford Expedition (there's room as long as I have the 3rd-row seat folded), but that's probably not going to fly with my new 2010. I also have a strap-on trunk-lid (or hatch) carrier, but putting that on every time I want to take my bike somewhere will be a pain. |

I have a Yakima basket on my 2010 but was planning to put some bars on the basket to hold the bikes. However, at the current time, I am thinking I will have the Subaru hitch installed and just use my hitch mounted carrier.

I spent tons of time trying to figure out the best way to do bikes on our 2010 Outback. I liked the Thule SideArm which is the upright carrier and I bought them, but couldn't get over how they looked on the roof and ended up returning them. They are a little big and clunky looking and I suspect that they must make some wind noise.. The security of them also had me concerned as popping the front quick release could make the bike disappear in a hurry.
I tried to retrofit my Thule V2s, but they weren't stable enough so I ended up going with the Yakima Forklifts which aren't the best looking, but I've gotten used to them and they work quite well. |

Some nice looking bikes here!
Mine is nothing too special, but it is rare and reasonably light. Airborne Blackbird with Shimano 105 Black |
