Ohio law is 50% for the fronts and whatever for the rest.

20% front and 5% rear. Here in KY, you can have as low as 20% on the front passenger doors and you can pretty much paint the rears...

I love this color combo.

You're lucky. In NY I think it's illegal to have just about any tint on the fronts, though I see a ton of people with tint all around and haven't heard of anyone getting tickets for it.

Default Tint on back 5 only?

Does anybody have tint on the back 5 windows only?

I have an '07 in white and I'm considering having the rear tinted. PA tint laws require 70% light transmission on all windows...I'd like to go with a 35% or 50% tint. My theory is that if I keep the front driver & passenger side untinted the cops won't care.

PA code doesn't specify a VLT limit. it only says that it cannot impede viewing the interior of the car.
Quote:
The applicable PA Law or Statute is TITLE 75 of PA STATUTES - 4524 (e)(1) - This is the LAW passed by our legislators and it does NOT prohibit tint unless it "does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle."
50% will allow them to see in with no problem at all. 35% might be a little more difficult at night, but it is still doable.
EDIT: local laws/regs might apply, so check those before proceeding.

Finally tinting this week. If anyone else wants to throw in their tint pics please do so.

Also - is there an odor in the car after getting a tint? I'll be driving around in cold weather and don't want to have to open the windows....

No smell that I was aware of. They also flat out say not to open the windows for 3-4 days while the moisture between the film and window evaporates. Not sure if that is something unique to Florida, but has been told to me on all three cars I have had tinted at the same place. When I went in to have my wife's car tinted, there was someone bringing their car back in because they went through a drive-thru on the way home and the rubber seals pulled the tint all asunder. Charged them $35 to fix it.

Right - I guess what I meant to say was that I don't want to open the moonroof in the cold weather, since I'd be too worried about messing up the tint job to lower the windows...

Anyway - that's a good cautionary tale - no drive-thrus for a couple days after you get your tint.
