I'm trying to decide what window tint to add to my 2008 Outback (Diamond Gray Metallic). I'd like to see what different tints look like on the Outback, not on a Legacy or any other car. It would be nice for the forum to have these all in one place as a reference.
If you'd like to share, please post a picture (preferably side-profile) of your Outback and tell us what % percentage tint it is (20%, 35%, etc.) |

The % refers to the transmitted light, not the blocked light - so 35% front 20% rear does let more light through in the front
![]() I have 35%F 20%R too (the rear is the stock "privacy glass" which they said is 20%). I like it a lot but would prefer 20% all round if it was legal (it's not here). |

I want to get tinting... but here in NY state, the minimum transmitted light is 70%... what is the freaking point? I just bought a nice pair of polarized Ray-Bans, so I suppose that is my "tint." haha ;D

15% rear 40% in front. I like the back really dark so I can stow my road and mountain bikes in the back without worry.
Disclaimer: Check with your local laws and ordinances on this issue. I have to say that so I can write you a ticket if its too dark. ![]()

Not sure what you are referring to. My front windows allow more light to be transmitted then the rears (although its hard to see with the way this picture was taken). This is simply darkest legal for Montana, where I had the car tinted.
