Looks like you have a good start. Is that an old boat trailer under there? Looks a little longer than the basic 8' ones. What are your dimensions? Should be almost as much fun to build as it will be to camp in.

yes it's an old boat trailer.I'm going to cut the toung down after I get it compleated.
only paid $150 for it.I wanted a 5x10 tear so I chose to use that trailer over one of the harbor freight ones.I've only got about 12 hours in it so far, hoping to get exterior rapped this weekend.

Looks like a good start!

I hope to start one next month. Wifey and I are expecting our first child and I need a healthier past time than drinking beer with the guys.

Good luck and I'll be following your progress

Nice work

Just a word of caution on the boat trailer toung - I had an old Yacht club boat trailer which looked pretty decent till it folded up like a cardboard tube one day. Seems the **** thing was rusting for years inside out. So check the trailer over good inside and out. Don't want your cool Tear drop taking a random left turn and exiting the scene leaving you with a hitch and nothing behind it.

Thanks for the heads up.The trailer is sound.I just cut off 3ft and the steal is in great shape. The frame was made here on the west coast so it was coated
inside and out.
